Said is a talkative, friendly and playful 4-year-old boy who loves to play football and to watch movies. Said's family consists of three other siblings, his mother, who is a housewife, and his father, who is a day laborer getting work whenever he can. Because of a medical condition, Said's legs bow outward and his knees don't touch, which caused difficulty walking. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare is requesting $880 to fund a procedure that will take place on April 22nd to restore Said's mobility. This treatment will enable him to participate in a variety of activities as he grows and also decrease his risk for future complications. Said’s mother says, “The economy is not good and finding work is getting hard. The little money I get goes to food. If you can help my son have this treatment, I would be very grateful.”

Lydia is a five-month-old baby girl growing up in Tanzania. She is the youngest in a family of three children. Lydia was born with bilateral clubfoot, which is a birth defect that occurs when the feet are twisted out of shape. After her diagnosis, her parents were not able to afford the entirety of Lydia's treatment. They were then directed to come to our medical partner's care center. If Lydia does not receive treatment, she will experience pain and have difficulty walking. Consequently, she may not be able to attend school, which could then impact her ability to work when she grows up. Lydia is currently scheduled to undergo surgery to correct the positioning of her feet on May 16. Her family has been able to pay for $45 of the cost of the procedure. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting an additional $890 to cover the remaining expenses. Lydia's parents are hopeful that their daughter will make a full recovery and go on to live a normal life. Her father says, "When she gets treated, I would love to see Lydia attend school and become an accountant.”
