Meet Collins, a nine-month-old boy living in Kenya. Collins has an inguinal hernia, which occurs when part of the intestine protrudes through the abdominal muscles. As a result, Collins’ everyday activities are extremely uncomfortable. He cannot sit or eat solid food because of the pain. If untreated, his hernia may lead to a blocked intestine. If that is untreated, Collins faces a high risk of death.
His father, a construction worker, earns just enough to meet his family’s basic needs and cannot afford Collins’ treatment. His mother says, “I pray that my son will be well soon and grow up to be a responsible young man.”
Let’s work together to raise the $540 needed for an inguinal hernia repair, a procedure that will close his abdominal wall and help this young boy grow up healthy and happy!
