Geleto is a 70-year-old man from Ethiopia. For decades, this dedicated farmer has been the bedrock of his large family, working tirelessly to provide for his five sons and two daughters. Known throughout his town for his incredible work ethic, he has always defined himself by his independence and his connection to the land. However, his livelihood is now under threat. What began as a sudden blurriness six months ago has rapidly clouded both of his eyes, a condition known as bilateral cataract. This significant vision impairment has stolen his ability to walk his fields or tend to his crops. For a man who has spent his entire life outdoors, being unable to see his farm is a heartbreaking challenge that has brought his vital work to a standstill. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going outside on his own. Fortunately, Geleto is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery on March 7th, with the help of our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital. During the procedure, surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens in both eyes. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, Geleto needs help to raise $300 to fund this procedure. He says: "I am so excited for the opportunity to move past this blurred vision. I can't wait to walk in my farm safely again, spotting every ripening crop and working with the strength and precision that my farm deserves. Most of all, I look forward to being independent once more."

Seanminh is a 10-year-old student from Cambodia. He lives in Preah Sihanouk province with his parents and younger brother, who is two years old. His father works as a tuk-tuk tricycle driver, and his mother is a stylist specializing in wedding embellishments. He is currently studying in Grade 5, enjoys mathematics, and dreams of becoming a teacher. In his free time, he likes playing volleyball with friends and playing with his brother. His favorite meal is fried pork. For the past two years, Seanminh has been experiencing frequent nosebleeds, snoring, and difficulty breathing during sleep. The symptoms affect his sleep and daily comfort, making it difficult to rest properly and focus during the day. When he was eight years old, his father brought him to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with tonsillar hypertrophy. Doctors recommended surgery, but the family could not afford the procedure. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Seanminh, which is scheduled to take place on March 10th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Seanminh of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. Seanminh's father shared, “We are very grateful for the support that helped our child receive this treatment. We hope he will breathe easier, stop having nosebleeds, and live a healthier life.”

Tibeyalirwa is a 62-year-old father of eight children from Uganda. He and his wife depend on farming for their livelihood, growing food mainly for home consumption and selling off any surplus to meet their basic needs. Ten years ago, Tibeyalirwa developed two swellings in his inguinal region. He sought treatment at a nearby medical center, and underwent surgery. However, two years ago, the swelling recurred on the left side, accompanied by significant pain. Tibeyalirwa has been diagnosed with inguinal hernia, a condition that occurs when abdominal tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal muscles, causing a bulge in the groin area. He needs surgery to prevent his symptoms from getting worse. Fortunately, on March 10th, Tibeyalirwa has been scheduled for hernia repair surgery at Rwibaale Health Center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $234 to fund Tibeyalirwa's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Tibeyalirwa says, "I hope to be relieved of the pain, so I can resume my duties as a farmer."
