Seanminh is a 10-year-old student from Cambodia. He lives in Preah Sihanouk province with his parents and younger brother, who is two years old. His father works as a tuk-tuk tricycle driver, and his mother is a stylist specializing in wedding embellishments. He is currently studying in Grade 5, enjoys mathematics, and dreams of becoming a teacher. In his free time, he likes playing volleyball with friends and playing with his brother. His favorite meal is fried pork.
For the past two years, Seanminh has been experiencing frequent nosebleeds, snoring, and difficulty breathing during sleep. The symptoms affect his sleep and daily comfort, making it difficult to rest properly and focus during the day. When he was eight years old, his father brought him to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with tonsillar hypertrophy. Doctors recommended surgery, but the family could not afford the procedure.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Seanminh, which is scheduled to take place on March 10th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Seanminh of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably.
Seanminh’s father shared, “We are very grateful for the support that helped our child receive this treatment. We hope he will breathe easier, stop having nosebleeds, and live a healthier life.”
