Kai is an adorable baby boy from the Philippines who loves to listen to nursery rhymes. Kai's mother is a stay-at-home mom, while his father works as a construction worker. Kai's father's income helps to meet their day-to-day basic needs. Kai was born with a birth condition that leads to a complete or partial intestinal blockage. Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo surgery to help him heal on May 4th. Our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines, is requesting $1,279 to help cover the total cost of Kai's procedure and care. After his recovery, Kai will no longer experience bowel dysfunction or be at risk of developing severe health complications in the future. Kai's mother shared, "This surgery is a big help for our family. The bigger portion of my husband's income goes to Kai's colostomy supplies. Now, we do not have to worry about it anymore. Thank you so much, World Surgical Foundation Philippines and Watsi for helping us."

Biancha is a 4-month-old baby girl from Haiti, who is the first child born to her parents. Biancha's mother loves to sing to her and wants to see her daughter grow up healthy. Biancha has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain, increasing intracranial pressure. As a result of her condition, the circumference of Biancha's head has been increasing in size, and she has difficulty feeding. Without treatment, Biancha will experience severe physical and developmental delays as she grows older. Our medical partner, Project Medishare, is requesting $897 to cover the cost of surgery for Biancha at Hospital Bernard Mevs. This is the only facility in Haiti where surgery for treating hydrocephalus is performed. This procedure, which is scheduled for June 23rd, will drain the excess fluid from Biancha's brain, reducing the intracranial pressure, and greatly improving Biancha's quality of life. With proper treatment, Biancha will hopefully develop into a strong and healthy young girl. Her family is hoping for a complete recovery, and is happy she will not be suffering anymore.

Esamu is a one-year-old baby boy from Tanzania and the youngest child in a family of four children. Esamu's mother has a small hair salon just outside of their home, while his father seeks day labor jobs at construction sites to support their family. Esamu was born with a mass on the right side of his jaw and experiences redness and swelling. His parents tried to seek treatment for him at an early age, but they were not successful until now. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Esamu to receive treatment. He traveled to AMH's care center where, on June 4th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Esamu needs help to raise $724 to fund this procedure. Esamu’s mother shared, "we have spent the little money we had saved seeking treatment for our baby to no success. Please help our son."

Brigitte is a 2-year-old baby girl and the only child in her family. Her parents shared how talkative she already is and they are hopeful for her bright future. Brigitte's parents sells clothes at the local market and work hard to earn enough to make ends meet. Brigitte has been diagnosed with bilateral genu valgus, also known as knock knees, which makes it difficult for her to stand and walk. Her legs bow inward so that her knees touch. This condition is typically caused by an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones, which often stems from contaminated drinking water. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $880 to fund corrective surgery for Brigitte on April 16th. Treatment will support Brigitte's mobility, allow her to participate in all kinds of new activities, and greatly decrease her risk of future complications. Brigitte’s mother shared, "My daughter’s legs are so badly deformed, please help correct her leg. We have no means of affording the treatment cost."
