Fred is a 50-year-old teacher from Southwestern Uganda. He teaches at a primary school and lives alone in a semi-permanent house. He also takes care of some of his nieces and nephews and contributes to their school fees.
Five years ago, Fred developed a small, painless cyst on his right wrist. Over the last few years, the cyst has been growing and is becoming more painful, especially when he is writing on the chalkboard. He visited a local hospital and after an exam, a mass excision surgery is recommended to help him heal.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Fred receive treatment. He traveled to AMH's care center where, on August 23rd, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Fred needs help to raise $145 to fund this procedure.
Fred shared, “currently, I can not afford the cost of surgery yet I desire to be treated and ease off the pain. Please help me."
