“I want to feel normal again. I have had this bad eye for three months and want it to stop so that I can do my job well again,” says Phou, a 49-year-old man from Cambodia. He is married with two children and farms beans and coconuts for a living.
Recently, Phou was diagnosed with pterygium, or surfer's eye, in his right eye, which has caused his work to suffer. This condition causes redness, itching, burning, and blurred vision. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, tells us, “It is hard for Phou to work consistently because his eye is always bothering him.”
$150 will cover the medication and operating costs necessary for treating Phou. Without proper care, he will have to continue working in pain. Together, we can help him feel comfortable again!
