Emilio is a 48-year-old man living in Guatemala. He came to Watsi in hopes of receiving a prosthetic leg.
According to our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kawoq, “Emilio had a farming accident in 2013 which resulted in a non-healing infection and wound of his left leg. As a result he had to have the leg amputated. Since then, his mobility has been very limited. He gets around with crutches, but his ability to continue working is minimal. This is affecting his economic and family stability.”
Emilio looks forward to “being able to work in the fields again, and being able to for walks with my family and friends.” For $1,255 we can fund the prosthetic device that will allow him to get back to life as normal!
Emilio tells us, “Since 2013, I have looked for options for getting a prosthetic device, but they are all much more expensive than I could ever hope to afford. I’m happy to have found Watsi and I hope that you can help me out!”
