The lovely Anani is a nine-month old baby girl from Guatemala who has been suffering from near constant seizures since birth. These seizures are interfering with her growth and development, so much so that both her motor and verbal development are very delayed. Anani's parents want the very best for her, and hope she may have the "same chances that our other children have, to grow up healthy," they tell us.
"They came to us by word of mouth," our medical partner, Wuqu' Kawoq, explains, "they've heard great things from other families with developmentally delayed children about how amazing the Watsi-sponsored program is in terms of turning around these cases and producing great results."
"There is some urgency to this case because Anani is in a critical window where, if we can fix this problem, her brain potential is probably still preserved and she can rebound from the delays that she has had," says Wuqu Kawoq.
With our partner's great track record of helping children such as Anani, acute seizure treatment is expected to control her seizures, thereby allowing her to develop normally. $745 is all it takes to get Anani the treatment she needs to regulate her seizures and improve her quality of life!
