This is Enock, a happy, active, and talkative boy from Tanzania. He enjoys kicking his ball, running around with other children, and pulling toy cars. He is the third and last child in the family. Enock’s mother noticed something was wrong with her son when he was about three months old. She observed that her son’s scrotal area was unusually swollen on the right side, and the swelling was especially pronounced when he cried. Each time she rushed him to the hospital, the swelling disappeared, and so doctors did not see any concerning symptoms. When Enock turned six months, the swelling became bigger and constant. She was told not to worry as the condition may disappear on its own. Unfortunately, that has not been the case, and now Enock’s mother is concerned because the swelling keeps increasing at a slow rate. Enock suffers from a inguinal hernia, and requires surgery to give him a chance at fully recovering. After the operation, Enock will no longer be in pain, and the surgery will prevent him from developing intestinal obstruction in the future. Enock's mother already struggles to care for her three children, especially after Enock's father refused to acknowledge his son's medical condition. With only her business of selling tomatoes, she barely has enough income to cover their basic needs, let alone Enock's necessary surgery. Enock's mother prays for her son to get the right treatment, to heal well, and for him to get a good education. Let's help support Enock and his family.
