Meet Dhiraj, an active five-year-old from Nepal. Dhiraj enjoys going to classes at a local school, as well as playing games and singing rhymes with his friends. Recently, Dhiraj fell while running downhill from his home to visit neighboring friends, which resulted in a fractured left humerus and compromised movement at his elbow joint.
“He cannot properly move his left arm, and so he cannot play. He cannot sleep properly due to pain,” our partners at Possible write. Dhiraj’s father works in the local fields and as a wage laborer to sustain his family, but cannot afford formal treatment for his son’s fractured arm.
For $205, our partners in Nepal can provide a formal cast for Dhiraj that will help his arm heal correctly. With this cast it is expected that, “Dhiraj will be able to get rid of the pain and move his arm. This will allow him to play or sleep with ease. Furthermore, he will have no residual deformities.”
Let’s help Dhiraj get back to playing with his friends and having a childhood experience free from pain!
