Meet Namara, a 22-year-old farmer from Uganda. He is the youngest of six children, and he works with his mother on their farm. Namara had two inguinal hernias, which caused him pain and discomfort.
In October of 2016, Namara was exercising when he began to feel intense pain. He visited a hospital, where he was diagnosed with bilateral inguinal hernias and was advised to undergo surgery. However, Namara knew he could not afford surgery. He returned home and became unable to lift heavy items or farm.
Finally, Namara visited our medical partner's care center, Holy Family Virika Hospital. On November 16, he underwent a hernia repair surgery, during which an incision was made into his abdominal cavity and the hernias were pushed back into place. Our medical partner is requesting $249 to fund this procedure.
