Meet Clement, a four-month-old boy living in Kenya. Clement , an only child, lives with his mom and step-grandmother. He was born with hydrocephalus, a condition that causes excess fluids to build on the brain resulting in swelling. Clement’s condition can cause seizures, loss of vision, brain damage and even death if not treated.
“I hope that I’ll get support so that he can get his treatment as soon as possible,” says Clement’s mother. His mother is currently unable to raise funds for Clement’s surgery.
For $980, doctors can insert a shunt that will allow excess fluid to drain from Clement’s brain. This will prevent life-threatening side-effects and allow Clement to grow healthy and strong!
