Meet Geoffrey, a 27-year-old father from Kenya. Two years ago he broke his ankle in a motorbike accident while working as a taxi operator. The ankle was treated at that time but it has yet to heal. As a result, Geoffrey is in severe pain and unable to work. His wife and two children left him because he can no longer provide for them. "I want to be able to work again. I know that once I can support my wife and children again, they will come back,” Geoffrey says. He is not only hopeful, he is determined. Geoffrey sold his bike and cows, raised funds from his community, and rented out his farm to help fund his treatment. Geoffrey’s broken ankle will need to be treated through ankle fusion surgery. After the procedure, he is expected to have full mobility and no pain. With $900 we can give Geoffrey the support he needs to get care and bring his family back together. Thidar lives in Burma with her husband and two children. She loves to read and spend time at home doing sewing projects when she's not at work, but the symptoms caused by a benign tumor in her uterus— back pain, dizziness, and abdominal bleeding — have forced her to stop working. Thidar is extremely worried about her financial situation. Her entire family is now living off her husband's small salary and they cannot afford the surgery she needs to remove the tumor. At just one month old, Angel is fighting for her life. She was born with hydrocephalus, a condition in which spinal fluid builds up in the skull and puts potentially fatal pressure on the brain. She needs a $1,750 surgery to give her a chance at a healthy future. Angel's mother is doing her best to care for her four children, but she is at a loss for how to handle this situation. Angel is unable to close her eyes properly or hold her head up on her own. The team at our medical partner in Zambia writes, "Angel's life will be saved with this procedure. She'll have the chance to develop normally, and as her head decreases in size, she'll be able to become more and more independent, holding her head up on her own and eventually being able to stand and walk."

In a recent motorcycle accident, Den fractured his left tibia and fibula. These injuries are incredibly painful, and have severely reduced Den’s mobility. Den, a 22-year-old from Cambodia, works as a barber and has two brothers and one sister. He loves playing sports, but hasn’t been able to since he sustained his injury.
