Ratha is an 11-year-old girl from Cambodia who studies in the fifth grade. She has two brothers and one sister. Ratha likes to read books, listen to stories, and watch television.
On March 10, 2016, Ratha's left hand was injured in a sugarcane machine. She was treated at a local hospital, but her symptoms did not improve. Ratha then traveled three hours with her mother to reach Watsi's medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC). She underwent an open reduction internal fixation procedure on August 16, during which doctors reset her broken bones and fixed them together using pins.
Most recently, on October 28, Ratha returned to CSC to have the pins removed from her middle finger. This procedure will relieve her of her pain and allow her to use her left hand comfortably.
"I hope to have a normal finger again," says Ratha. Let's help fund her $411 procedure.
