Little Woodjina is a seven-month-old baby from Haiti who lives with her mother and father in the Haitian countryside. Her parents work in the field to make a living. Woodjina is their first child and she was born with a cleft lip and palate which makes it difficult for her to eat.
Our medical partner, Medishare, tells us that Woodjina's mother is not able to breastfeed her baby and it is difficult to even spoonfeed her right now. She is very worried about her daughter's weight.
A series of corrective surgeries will help to repair baby Woodjina's lip and mouth, but the cost of the procedure, $960, is out of the family's reach. That's where we can help. Let's ensure that Woodjina can pay for the care she needs and is able to receive nourishment for a happy, healthy life.
