Han is a 71-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has five children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in his free time. One month ago, Han developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him vision loss. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Han learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 15, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure. He says, "I hope that after my surgery I am able to see better so I can take care of my family and go back to the rice farm."

Hour is a 78-year-old vegetable seller from Cambodia. He has nine children, fifteen grandchildren, and enjoys watching the news on TV in his free time. Two years ago, Hour developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry and cloudy vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Hour learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 10, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure. He says, "I hope that I am able to see more clearly and can recognize my relatives' faces and go anywhere outside on my own."

Sroeun is a 79-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has two children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time. When Sroeun learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for hour and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 8, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure. She says, "I hope that after my operation is complete I will be able to help take care of my grandchildren and be able to go places independently."

Chantrea is a young man from Cambodia. Chantrea enjoys listening to music, watching television, cooking for his family, and going for walks with his friends. In February 2019, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident, suffering trauma to his right leg. He sought care at a private hospital in Phnom Penh where he was placed in a bamboo splint for two months. He was then able to regain movement in his leg, allowing him to walk normally. However, the bone did not heal properly and has since become deformed and shortened. Treatment will help realign the bones in Chantrea's leg, making sure they heal properly. Treatment will also elongate the tissue and return his leg to its appropriate length. Surgery is scheduled for July 3 and will cost $390.

Vanna is a 21-year-old public administration student from Cambodia. He has six brothers and two sisters, and enjoys reading books and playing football in his free time. Vanna has strabismus in his right eye. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eye caused by injury or dysfunction in the associated nerves and muscles. It is difficult for his to see and read, and he is shy and experiences a lack of confidence. Vanna traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On July 10, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a corrective procedure to align his eyes. Now, Vanna needs help to raise $292 to fund this procedure. He says, "I hope that afer my surgery I will be able to look better and see more clearly so I can go on to become a police officer."

Yut is a 60-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He has eight children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the radio and watching Khmer boxing in his free time. Two years ago, Yut developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him tearing, blurry vision, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Yut learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On July 9, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure. He says, "I hope that after my surgery, I will be able to see clearly and can help take care of my grandchildren."

Samuel is a man from Kenya. He makes a living working on construction sites. In early July, he fell from a two-story building. X-ray imaging showed a femur fracture thatt requires an implant. It is difficult for him to walk and he is in chronic pain Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner can help. On July 10, Samuel will undergo a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation. This procedure will help him walk easily again and go back to work once he has fully recovered. Now, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,451 to fund this procedure. Samuel says, “I hope that soon I will be able to walk with ease again."

Sok Ra is a 14-year-old girl from Cambodia. She has one younger brother, and likes to listen to music in her free time. Since she was born, Sok Ra developed a cataract in each eye, causing her complete blindness. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Sok Ra learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 9, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly.
