Hour is a 78-year-old vegetable seller from Cambodia. He has nine children, fifteen grandchildren, and enjoys watching the news on TV in his free time.
Two years ago, Hour developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry and cloudy vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Hour learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 10, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that I am able to see more clearly and can recognize my relatives’ faces and go anywhere outside on my own.”
