Gift is a child from Kenya. He lives with his grandmother and father in a two-roomed house. Gift’s father is an electrician, while his grandmother practices subsistence farming. Gift was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Gift has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Gift will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on August 15. AMHF is requesting $542 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care. “I hope my little Gift gets treated,” shares Gift’s father.

Chamroeun is a factory worker from Cambodia. He has four sisters and two brothers. He likes to help his mother with work around the house. One month ago, Chamroeun was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture in his left radius bone. It is difficult for him to complete his work, and he is in chronic pain. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 2, Chamroeun will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $430. This procedure will help him use his hand and arm easily again. He says, "I hope after the operation I can use my hand again and return to work."

Ruth is a 10-year-old girl from Kenya. When she was two years old, she lost both her parents. She currently lives in New Beginnings Children's Center orphanage. Ruth has had difficulty hearing from both her ears. She was taken to our medical partner's care center, AIC Kijabe Hospital, where she was recommended for a tympanoplasty, a procedure to help prevent her from losing total hearing. On August 15, Ruth will undergo surgery at AIC Kijabe Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is asking for $591 to cover the cost of her procedure. After surgery, Ruth will be able to hear and pursue her schooling to the fullest!
