Maria is a hard-working young girl from Tanzania. She is not only dedicated to her schoolwork, but also to helping her mother run the household. Maria's parents are small scale farmers who grow onions. Even though there is a good market to sell onions, their land is not large enough to make a big profit. With a family of five children, what they earn barely covers their everyday living expenses.
