Meet 11-year-old Hong from Cambodia. Hong is the youngest of six children and he loves to play soccer. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, writes, “When the staff interviewed Hong he was wearing a Chelsea jersey. They asked him if he was a fan of the team. Hong said no but later admitted it was because he was too shy to admit it is his favorite soccer team!”
However, “Hong dislocated his knee while playing soccer two years ago,” explains CSC. “Since then, he has not been able to walk and had to stop going to school two months ago because of his disability.”
Hong himself says, “I am unhappy that I cannot play soccer with my friends anymore.”
For $300, Hong will receive a reduction of dislocation patella surgery. Doctors are confident this will restore Hong’s mobility and reduce his pain. Let’s work together to pay for the treatment he needs so he can go to school and play soccer again!
