Kadia is a 32-year-old mother of three from Mali. She sells fish to earn income that sustains her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Kadia is currently expecting her fourth child. Due to a high risk pregnancy, doctors have recommend a cesarean section delivery. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, Muso, is helping Kadia undergo a cesarean section on August 4th. This procedure will cost $259, and Kadia needs your support. Cloryn is a 43-year-old woman from the Philippines. She is a hardworking wife who contributes to her family's needs by working at a small shake store, while her husband works as a fisherman. She stays active through her work and household responsibilities, and enjoys watching videos on her cellphone during her free time. About three months ago, Cloryn began to experience troubling symptoms, including a lump on the base of her throat. She was diagnosed with a multinodular colloid goiter, which is an enlargement of the thyroid gland. She was advised that surgery would be needed, but financial limitations made it difficult for her to continue with the recommended follow-up care. Fortunately, our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), is helping Cloryn receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on October 17th at Our Lady of Peace Hospital, where surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. A portion of the cost of her treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $935 to cover the cost of Cloryn's procedure and care. The day was a celebration until his motorcycle's brakes went out. On his way home from his daughter's graduation ceremony, Peter was in a serious motorcycle accident. After being rushed to the hospital, he received basic care for injuries to his right arm, tibia and fibula fractures, and an open leg wound. He was then referred to our medical partner's care center, AIC Kapsowar Hospital, for more advanced treatment. The surgical team is planning a complex free flap operation, stabilizing the fractured bone and covering the damaged tissue. The surgery is scheduled to take place on October 21st. However, Peter's financial constraints threaten his recovery. He works as a plumber, and his wife sells second-hand clothing with enough earnings to cover daily expenses, but not a complex and unexpected leg surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,500 to help cover Peter's surgery and recovery, restoring both his quality of life and ability to work.
