Julia is a farmer and mother of two children. She grows sugar cane and sweet potatoes which she sells at the local markets to support her family.
Julia is due to give birth this summer. She has been attending prenatal education classes where she has learned about nutrition for herself and her baby and also about saving small amounts of money for when the baby arrives. These classes have been a great help to Julia but the classes alone are not enough to ensure her baby arrives safe and healthy.
With $215 from Watsi supporters, Julia will receive prenatal and postnatal care for herself and her baby and she will be able to deliver her child in a hospital under the watchful eyes of medical professionals who will ensure the delivery goes to plan.
