Macksence is an 18-month-old girl from Uganda. She enjoys playing with her siblings. She always smiles when her mother returns from the garden and runs to welcome her.
About a week ago, Macksense developed high fevers and had difficulty eating. Treatment from a nearby health facility caused her face to swell. Now, she is unable to open her eyes. Her mother traveled 50 kilometers through the forest to bring her to our medical partner’s hospital, Bwindi Community Hospital, for better treatment. On October 27, Macksense began malaria treatment, which includes medications and monitoring.
Macksense’s parents grow and sell tea to earn their income. They do not have enough to pay for medical expenses. They have raised $4, but they need help to fund the remaining $120 treatment costs.
“I want to thank everyone that is giving to help my child, so that she may have access to treatment,” says Macksense’s mother, “May God Bless you.”
