Asasira is a 19-month-old girl from Uganda and the only child to her parents. Her mother is a nurse who works at a nearby clinic while her father is a cashier in local village. Asasira’s father is the first born of his family and an orphan, so he has taken on the responsibility of caring for his three sisters by covering their school fees and providing for their basic needs. Asasira’s family wants to see her in good health, but they can’t afford the cost of her surgery.
Since birth, Asasira has had an umbilical hernia. She is experiencing pain and discomfort and if not treated, may suffer intestinal tissue damage and death. Fortunately, on July 8th, she will undergo a hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $241 to fund Asasira’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Asasira’s mother shared, “I am glad to have heard of this program and I ask kindly for you to support my child and help her undergo her surgery to restore her good health. I will be humbled. Thank you.”
