Horn is a 70-year-old married man with three sons, five daughters, and eleven grandchildren. He likes to watch boxing and the news on television. He also enjoys visiting the pagoda to listen to the monks pray.
Five months ago, Horn developed a cataract in each eye, causing him blurred vision, pain, cloudy lenses, and extreme sensitivity to light. It is difficult for him to see things and faces clearly, do any type of work, and go places on his own.
When Horn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for three hours to seek treatment. On November 28, CSC surgeons performed a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, Horn will be able to see clearly again. Now, he needs help to fund this $292 procedure.
“I hope that my eyes can see everything more clearly,” he says, “so that I can easily recognize the faces of everyone and watch TV easily. I want to be able to ride my motorbike by myself.”
