Tushemerirwe is a 40-year-old housewife from Uganda. She is married and has seven children. Her husband is a farmer, growing tomatoes and cabbage to support the family.
About ten years ago, Tushemerirwe noticed a small swelling developing at the back of her neck. In recent years, her condition has made it hard for her to breathe, and so she decided to visit her local hospital. There a surgeon recommended she undergo a thyroidectomy.
On August 3, Tushemerirwe will undergo surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is asking for $240 to cover the cost of her treatment.
After surgery, Tushemerirwe is looking forward to helping her husband expand the family business.
