Visal is a four-year-old boy from Cambodia. He has one younger sister. His mother works at a garment factory. He likes to play with his toys with his friends.
Two weeks ago, Visal developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurred vision, tearing, and a cloudy lens. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Visal learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for one and a half hours seeking treatment. On April 26, doctors will perform a lens aspiration and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
His mother said “I hope my son’s vision improves. He is having difficulty seeing and I want him to be able to go to school soon.”
