Nhoeb is 67 years old and has one son, three daughters, and four grandchildren. She likes to listen to monks pray at the pagoda, join ceremonies, and watch Thai movies in her free time.
Nhoeb developed a cataract in her left eye about two years ago, causing her blurred vision and photophobia (extreme sensitivity to light). It is difficult for her to see things clearly, do any type of work, recognize faces, and go anywhere outside by herself.
The $153 cost for a small incision cataract surgery and a lens implants in her left eye will allow Nhoeb to see clearly again.

Nhoeb underwent successful cataract surgery.
Nhoeb’s cataract surgery for her left eye went well. After her surgery, she was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and fight infection. Nhoeb’s vision has improved.
Nhoeb says, “I am happy I can see everything clearly again. I can help my family work at home like clean and take care of my grandchildren. I can go anywhere by myself.”
