Tusingwire is a 50-year-old farmer and mother of four from Uganda.
Three months ago, Tusingwire began to experience a swelling around her belly button that has grown and become painful over time.
Tusingwire sought assistance through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). She was diagnosed with a hernia and is now scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on July 6. AMHF is requesting $219 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care.
“I hope to continue with farming and have peace of mind after surgery,” she says.

Tusingwire underwent hernia repair surgery.
Tusingwire had a successful hernia repair treatment. She reports a big improvement, and she experiences less pain now. This treatment she received will enable her to live without pain.
