Eyosyas is a cheerful five-year-old boy from Ethiopia who loves playing with his older sister, watching cartoons, and spending time with his family. He lives with his parents and older sister. His father works as a daily laborer in construction, while his mother cares for the family. When Eyosiyas was still a baby, his mother noticed that something was different about his body. She was advised by a doctor to wait and observe. Four years later, his mother's concerns returned after a relative sent her a photo of her cousin's son, who was the same age as Eyosiyas. Comparing the two boys' development, she questioned whether Eyosiyas's condition was normal. She took him back to the health center for another examination. Eyosyas was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remain undescended. If left untreated, Eyosyas has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Eyosyas was referred to our medical partner's care center, BethanyKids Myungsung Christian Medical Centre, and will undergo surgery on July 24th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $754 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. Eyosiyas's mother shared, "I am so happy to be here and to have this opportunity for my son. As a parent, I never imagined we would receive such high-quality care free of charge. Vichea is seven years old and a Grade 3 student from Cambodia. He lives in Kampot Province with his parents and his three-year-old younger brother. His father is a farmer, and his mother is a vegetable seller. He enjoys studying mathematics and playing football with his friends. He dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up. On August 3, 2026, Vichea fell while playing with his friends at school, causing a closed fracture of his right wrist. The fracture causes swelling and pain in his right wrist, making it difficult for him to move his hand, hold objects, write, eat, and participate in school and play activities. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On August 5th, Vichea will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $600. This procedure will realign and stabilize the fractured bone, helping his wrist heal properly. After recovery, he will be able to use his hand more comfortably, return to school, and play with his friends again. Vichea's father said, “Seeing my son in pain is very difficult. I hope this surgery will help him recover completely so he can return to his normal life as soon as possible.”

Seav is six years old and a second-grade student from Cambodia. She is the middle child of three siblings and lives with her parents, who are rice farmers in Prey Veng Province. Her older brother is in Grade 8, while her younger sister is three years old. She enjoys reading and writing Khmer and likes playing with toys with her cousins and sister. Her favorite foods are caramelized pork and eggs. When she was nine months old, Seav suffered a hot-water burn to her right hand. After the burn healed, scar tissue gradually formed and caused contractures in her right middle and ring fingers, along with a shortened web space. The tight scars restrict movement in her right middle and ring fingers and make it difficult for her to use her right hand for writing. This can make schoolwork and other activities that require hand movement more challenging. When Seav's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, they traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On September 23rd, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to improve movement in her right hand, making it easier for her to write and use her hand during school and daily activities. Now, she needs help to fund this $652 procedure. Seav's mother said, “Her hand has been tight since she was very young, and now it is making writing more difficult for her at school. I hope the surgery will help her move her fingers more freely so she can write, learn, and use her hand with greater ease.”
