Kekimuri is a 53-year-old farmer from Uganda. She is married and a mother to two sons and three daughters; all still in school. Kekimuri herself wasn’t able to proceed past the seventh grade because of the school fees. She and her husband both make a living from small scale farming. They normally grow and sell food crops like beans, tomatoes, and cabbage in order to pay for their children’s school fees and sustain their family.
Kekimuri came to the hospital with a right cubital fossa cyst on her arm, which she has been experiencing for over five years now. She feels pain when the area is touched and paralysis around the site. Kekimuri also cannot fold her hand, which has made her day-to-day activities more difficult.
Fortunately, Kekimuri traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On January 26th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Kekimuri needs help to raise $196 to fund this procedure.
Kekimuri shared, “I will really be grateful once I am free from this swelling that has given me a hard time over the years. I will continue with farming.”
