15-year-old Sovichea lives with his parents and two brothers in a rural area of Cambodia. He loves to play outside with his brothers and go on adventures. Two years ago, Sovichea fell on a slippery rock and injured his knee. Due to the limited access to healthcare where he lives, Sovichea never received treatment.
Since the accident, Sovichea’s muscles have tightened to the point where he has difficulty walking. To help him walk, surgeons at Children’s Surgical Centre can operate to release the tight muscles. Sovichea will need to work hard in physiotherapy to build his strength, but he’s willing to do what it takes to regain his mobility.
For $300, we can fund Sovichea’s surgery and restore his mobility so he can live a normal, active life (and keep up with his brothers)!
