Sopheap is a 49-year-old construction worker from Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. He is married and lives with his wife, who sells Khmer cakes. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and playing volleyball.
About one month ago, Sopheap developed a cataract in his right eye — a clouding of the eye’s lens that causes blurry vision — leaving him with pain, tearing, and difficulty seeing faces and colors clearly. He has become worried about falling and is no longer able to go places on his own.
Fortunately, on June 17th, our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, will help Sopheap undergo cataract surgery that will help him see better. He can contribute $100, but needs help raising $163 to fund his procedure and care.
Sopheap said, “I hope after surgery my eye can see better, stop the pain, so I can go back to working again.”
