Roland is a peasant farmer from Uganda. Roland came to our hospital complaining of a swell on his mid-back area near the intra-scapular region. This has affected him for the past five years. He complains of pain, especially when doing heavy lifting and discomfort when resting. Roland had previously not visited a hospital due to lack of money. However, he heard of the SAFE program and sought to visit and seek assistance. He was diagnosed with lipoma and surgical excision recommended. With successful excision, Roland will be able to work with less pain and discomfort. The father of four children is a peasant farmer together with the wife.
Roland traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On November 5th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Roland needs help to raise $187 to fund this procedure.
Roland says, “I hope for a better recovery after surgery and continue with farming for the support to my family.”
