Ainebyona is a high school student from Uganda. He came to the hospital with a swelling and pain in a sensitive area, which he has had for more than two years. Whenever he is doing any strenuous work or lies on the side, he is usually in pain. He had been to the hospital previously but only received pain medication. He was also advised to visit a specialist for specialized care but due to limited finances, he opted simply to tolerate the pain. However, with his pain persisting, he managed to raise a small amount to pay for a consultation fee and was reviewed by surgeons. Doctors have diagnosed him with a right inguinal hernia and herniorrhaphy treatment is recommended.
Ainebyona is the tenth born in a family of 12 children coming from a humble background. His parents are small-scale farmers who are only able to earn sufficient funds to sustain the family’s basic needs. Ainebyona worked at a construction site to afford the consultation fee and he appeals for financial assistance for his surgery.
Fortunately, on October 13th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $230 to fund Ainebyona’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Ainebyona shared, “I have enough hopes that once I have undergone my surgery, my life will become new and I will be in a position to continue with my life in a new way and complete my studies.”
