Soy is a rice farmer and mother of six from Cambodia. She has two sons, four daughters, and nine grandchildren.
Three years ago, Soy developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, photophobia, and a cloudy lens. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Soy learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On February 6, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Her daughter says, “I hope my mother’s surgery is successful so she can see everything clearer. I don’t have to worry about her vision loss anymore.”
