Keav is a 55-year-old mother and farmer from Cambodia. She is married and has three sons. Keav and her husband are both farmers. When she is not working, Keav enjoys listening to the news and the monks praying on the radio.
Two years ago, Keav developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, photophobia, tearing, and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Keav learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours with her mother seeking treatment. On November 13th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and place an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Keav shared, “If I can see well, I will be able to cook good food for myself and my family again.”
