Thorn is a 19-year-old garment factory worker from Cambodia. She is the youngest of seven children, and enjoys listening to music on the radio.
Thorn has strabismus in her left eye. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eye caused by injury or dysfunction in the associated nerves and muscles. She has difficulty seeing straight, which also limits her function at work.
Thorn traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On April 24, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a corrective procedure to align her eyes. Now, Thorn needs help to raise $292 to fund this procedure.
She says, “I hope that after my surgery, my eye will not only look better, but will also allow me to see clearly and improve my work condition.”
