Sam Ang lives with a group of friends in Kandaal province in Cambodia. He works as a truck driver. His family and siblings live nearby, where they run a small grocery stall on the roadside. In his free time, Sam Ang goes fishing in the Mekong River or checks the news on his phone.
A previous injury that was left untreated is limiting his function on his right arm. He is also experiencing a loss of sensation and discomfort, making it difficult to drive long hours at his job.
Surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, plan to do a nerve procedure to improve function and sensation in Sam Ang’s arm. Surgery and physiotherapy will allow him to carry out his job and everyday activities without difficulty. Now Sam Ang and his family need $572 to fund his surgery, post-op medications, and physiotherapy.
Sam Ang shared, “I hope I can improve my arm so I can go back to work and help support my family.”
