Seyha is a young man from Cambodia. He used to work as a mechanic and enjoys playing soccer with his friends.
Seven months ago, he was in a motorbike accident that caused paralysis of his arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his right side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. Since the accident, Seyha has not been able to work and hasn’t found a doctor near his village who can help him.
Seyha traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On October 16, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will be able to use his arm and hand, and return to work. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $637 to fund this procedure.
He says, “I hope I can live my life like before the accident.”
