Grace is a 33-year-old small-scale farmer from southwestern Uganda. She is a mother to four sons, all in school. Grace, herself managed to complete grade 4 but never proceeded further due to a lack of school fees. While she primarily works as a farmer, she mainly grows food crops for home consumption and often sells the surplus to generate income for the family.
Her husband is a barber, and they reside in a three-room, muddy, semi-permanent house with her husband, children, and stepdaughter. Grace reports no pregnancy-related disorders, except that in her last trimester, she is experiencing backache with mild scar tenderness. She attended antenatal care at Nyakibale Hospital six times and received comprehensive treatment. During her free time, she enjoys domestic chores such as cooking, washing, and cleaning her home.
She is currently expecting and due to her high-risk pregnancy, her doctors recommended that she deliver via a cesarean section. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Grace undergo a C-Section on December 5th. This procedure will cost $252, and Grace needs your support.
Grace says, “I have always delivered by surgery, and I have often stayed a long time in the hospital due to hospital bills; I appeal to you for support for the success of my delivery.”
