Ork is a 52-year-old English teacher from Cambodia. He lives in rural Kampong Cham province with his elderly mother and has been divorced for about two years. He has two children, but both live with his ex-wife. He travels to see them whenever he can. During his free time, he enjoys teaching extra classes and watching the news on the internet.
Ork developed this condition following an accident in 2022 when someone cut him off while he was riding his motorbike, causing him to tumble to the ground and injure his left shoulder. He received treatment for wound repair at a local hospital, but was still unable to move his left hand. In 2022, he underwent nerve repair surgery for a brachial plexus injury at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), which improved his hand function; however, he still cannot fully lift his hand. Now, he hopes for better use of his arm to improve his capability to ride a motorbike. He needs to undergo a tendon and nerve repair procedure to help regain strength and mobility.
Ork is scheduled to undergo a tendon and nerve repair procedure on September 2nd. He is able to contribute $50 to his care, but needs help raising $651 to fund his treatment and care.
Ork said: “After the surgery, I hope that I will be able to use my left hand more comfortably again.”
