Winfred is a 50-year-old woman and a married mother of five children. She loves singing and is a member of a local choir. When she is at home, she tends to her farm to earn a living, while her husband works as a coffee trader.
For 12 years, Winfred has had an umbilical hernia. For years, the swollen area on her abdomen was not painful, but over the last six months, she has begun to experience pain in the area.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Winfred receive treatment. After a visit to AMH’s care center, she was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia and surgery was recommended. If left untreated, Winfred will be at risk of hernia strangulation, which could be fatal. On December 8th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH’s care center. Now, she needs help raising $230 to fund her procedure and care. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Winfred shared, “I desire to wake up with the condition treated so that I can lead a normal life free of pain.”
