Sarin is a 56-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has been married for 35 years and has two sons, one daughter, and two grandchildren. When she is not busy at the farm, she likes to cook and look after her family, watch television, and listen to the radio.
Eight months ago, Sarin was in a traffic accident and fractured her lower left leg. She received initial treatment and internal hardware to heal her fracture from a local provincial hospital. Now, she can walk easily again and is able to move her leg normally, but she needs the hardware removed.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On March 6th, Sarin will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This procedure will remove the internal hardware as Sarin’s injuries have healed normally.
“I hope that the surgeons are able to remove the pin and wire from my leg and that I will not have any pain after my operation,” Sarin shared.
