Cheab is 24 years old and a university student from Cambodia. She lives at a house run by an NGO for low-income students. Her father passed away four years ago, and her mother died when Cheab was just four years old. She is the youngest of seven siblings. Cheab is in her final year at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, aiming for a degree in accounting. At home, she likes listening to music and reading.
For the past four years, Cheab has been suffering from persistent nasal problems, including pain, a runny nose, itchiness, difficulty breathing, and frequent fatigue. A few years ago, she visited a local clinic, where they recommended surgery, but Cheab abandoned treatment as she could not afford the costs.
Fortunately, the NGO where Cheab lives referred her to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. On August 4th, she will have septoplasty surgery for a deviated septum. Now she needs your help to fund the $360, which will cover surgery, hospitalization, and all medications. This procedure will alleviate her discomfort and help her focus on her schoolwork.
Cheab shared, “I hope that I will be able to breathe easily and stop feeling tired and uncomfortable so I can work harder at school.”
