Egarmule a 60-year-old farmer who works hard to make sure he brings food on the table with his 7 children who supports him in Yumbe district. His medical condition started all the way back in 1994 with immediate swelling on his neck making it difficult to swallow food, drinking or taking fluids became too hard for him.
Fortunately, early this year, he was selected to be part of a new surgical program in the community, the team brought him for assessment, reviewed and recommended for a thyroid surgery.
Our medical partner, Hope Health Action, is helping Egarmule receive treatment. On September 11, he is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy where surgeons will remove all or part of his thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $603, and he and his family need help raising the funds.
He shared: “I am grateful and give my thanks to HHA and the donor for the huge support they have given.” After his recovery, he hopes to resume his occupation of repairing bicycle, which he loves to do.
