Odeta is a 17-year-old hardworking student who aspires to attend university and become a teacher. During her free time, Odeta enjoys playing netball with her school team.
While picking avocados to sell at the local market, Odeta fell out of a tree and fractured two bones in her forearm. She has contributed $4 of her own savings.

Her mother shares her gratitude for Odeta’s donors, saying, “I want to thank the donors for the support to me and my daughter.”

Odeta received successful fracture repair.
Odeta’s badly fractured arm has been set by the orthopedic specialist at Bwindi Community Hospital. Because she waited for five days before seeking treatment, the clinical officer corrected a malunion of the bones. She is now on the mend and back home. Because of her youth, the doctors expect a full recovery. Odeta is looking forward to going back to school when the new term begins.
“I am looking forward to school and my goal of becoming a teacher,” says Odeta. “If my parents had to sell their land, I might not have been able to go. We are so grateful.”
