“We hope that our granddaughter can be helped so that she can help herself and others as well. Being able to walk properly will give her independence, as she continues to grow up,” says Neema’s grandmother.
Neema is a five-year-old girl from Tanzania with unilateral club foot. Her mother is a single parent, and she lives with her grandparents, who are small-scale farmers and pay for the family’s basic needs. “Neema enjoys playing with other children and longs to go to school like her friends,” our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, tells us.

Neema received initial treatment to fix her clubfoot.
The initial treatment was a success!
Neema’s doctor tells us, “Neema is on the initial treatment to correct clubfoot. She is currently undergoing serial casting which will be followed by a small surgery and later on the use of night cast. At the end of the treatment, Neema is expected to be able to step on her right foot and walk properly.”
“Neema’s treatment is an answered prayer,”says Neema’s grandma, “We give our deepest appreciation for the huge financial support given to our granddaughter. This is the beginning of a better future because Neema will be able to walk to school and pursue a good career. We wish her nothing more than the best in her life.”
