Nay is an expectant mother from Burma. She lives with her husband, her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, her nephew, and her grandmother in a refugee camp in Sob Moe District, Mae Hong Song Province, Thailand. Her husband is a general day laborer who works outside of the camp. During her free time, she likes to cook and clean her house. Nay is expecting her first child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section due to cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD). This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Nay undergo a C-Section on August 24th. This procedure will cost $1,500, and Nay needs your support. Nay’s husband said, “I am very worried about my wife and my child, but I am also happy to get to meet my baby. If there are no donors to help us, we will need to borrow money, but I still do not know where to borrow from, as most of the people in the camp do not have much money to let us borrow. Mey Ching is six years old and a first-grader from Cambodia. She is the youngest of three children and lives with her parents and siblings in Koh Kong. Her father is a fisherman, while her mother sells groceries. She enjoys reading and writing Khmer and playing hide-and-seek with her friends in the village. Her favorite foods are sour fish soup and fried vegetables. For the past three years, Mey Ching has been experiencing a persistent daily cough, episodes of fever and throat pain, frequent snoring at night, and difficulty swallowing. Her ongoing throat problems make swallowing uncomfortable and disturb her sleep because of frequent snoring. The recurring symptoms can also make it harder for her to feel comfortable and fully enjoy school and activities with her friends. Mey Ching was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Mey Ching, which is scheduled to take place on September 8th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Mey Ching of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. Mey Ching's mother said, “I hope the surgery will help my daughter breathe, swallow, and sleep better. I want her to feel healthy and free from these ongoing throat problems.”

Moa is a 53-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He lives in Kampong Thom Province with his wife, who is also a rice farmer. They have two adult children: their daughter is a rice farmer, and their son works in a factory. In his free time, he enjoys caring for his rice fields and removing weeds. In January 2025, Moa injured his left knee after being struck by the gear stick of a tractor and later slipping, causing a left tibial tubercle fracture. He underwent surgery with the help of our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), where doctors performed open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) using screws and cerclage wire to stabilize the fracture. His fracture has healed well, and he has regained normal knee movement and walking. However, the metal hardware is no longer needed and should be removed to complete his treatment and help prevent future irritation or discomfort. On July 7th, Moa will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will safely remove the screws and cerclage wire, allowing him to continue his daily activities and farming without concerns related to the implants. He can contribute $100, but needs help raising $278 more to fund his procedure and care. Moa said, “I’m happy my knee has healed well. I hope this surgery will remove the metal safely so I can continue working and living without any worries.”
